Melissa and Joe Gorga, stars of the Real Housewives of New Jersey, both enjoy showing off their toned physiques on social media.

They even take time to share their fitness regimens and offer cleaning eating tips to their followers.

Despite their healthy lifestyle, this husband and wife duo have not been able to achieve chiseled abs on their own.

In fact, Joe recently posted a photo of himself and Melissa undergoing Emsculpt – the first and only non-invasive body contouring treatment that burns fat and builds muscle.

The couple revealed that, not only was the procedure quick and painless, but it helped them take their bodies to the next level in a way that countless crunches never could.

Keep reading to learn more about Emsculpt and how it helped Melissa and Joe Gorga get amazing abs.

What Is Emsculpt?

Current body sculpting technologies only focus on fat and skin, without affecting muscle. Since 1/3 of the body is comprised of muscle, BTL Aesthetics designed Emsculpt to target stubborn fat, while simultaneously toning underlying muscle.

Emsculpt also has the distinction as the world’s first and only non-invasive butt firming and lifting procedure.

Why Would Physically Fit Men and Women Undergo Emsculpt?

Although they are both in excellent shape, Melissa and Joe Gorga found that they were unable to get sculpted and defined abdominal muscles through exercise alone.

They turned to Emsculpt because it’s able to stimulate muscle remodeling that’s not possible with even the most intense workout.

More specifically, through high-intensity focused electromagnetic (HIFEM) technology, Emsculpt initiates supramaximal muscle contractions that cause muscle tissue to adapt to extreme conditions and become thicker and stronger.

This process also produces a release of free fatty acids and destruction of subcutaneous fat.

Does Emsculpt Really Work?

Although Joe only shared one photo of his and Melissa’s Emsculpt treatment, a series of four sessions, spaced two-to-three days apart, is recommended for optimal muscle building and sculpting.

Results become evident within 2-4 weeks after the final treatment, and Emsculpt has been clinically proven to produce an average:

·       16% increase in muscle mass

·       19% reduction in subcutaneous fat

·       96% patient satisfaction score

·       80% of patients also reported visible lifting of the buttocks post-procedure

If you want to take your body to the next level and get amazing abs like Melissa and Joe Gorga, call The West Institute to schedule a consultation for Emsculpt.

Emsculpt or CoolTone?

For years, the aesthetic industry focused exclusively on fat reduction, ignoring an important component of body sculpting – muscle.

Recognizing this deficit, BTL Aesthetics and Allergan each developed noninvasive muscle toning treatments – Emsculpt and CoolTone.

Now that women and men have two ways to tone and tighten their bodies, many are wondering which option is right for them – Emsculpt or CoolTone?

Continue reading to discover which treatment is best-suited to your individual needs and goals.

What Is Emsculpt?

Emsculpt is a cutting-edge body contouring technology that increases muscle tone and eliminates fat in the abdomen, buttocks, thighs, and arms. It is completely noninvasive and uses high-intensity focused electromagnetic (HIFEM) energy to induce a series of 20,000 supramaximal muscle contractions.

Due to the strength of these contractions, muscle fibers remodel and become thicker and firmer. At the same time, Emsculpt increases fat metabolism to reduce stubborn bulges.

What Is CoolTone?

CoolTone is a non-surgical treatment that applies Magnetic Muscle Stimulation (MMS) to strengthen, firm, and tone the abs, glutes, and quads.

While it is the counterpart to CoolSculpting, CoolTone is not designed to achieve fat reduction in the treatment area.

Emsculpt or CoolTone?

While both technologies produce impressive muscle toning, many patients want to know which treatment is right for them – Emsculpt or CoolTone?

Emsculpt was the first noninvasive body contouring treatment to build muscle and burn fat. In seven independent clinical studies, with over 200 patients, Emsculpt achieved impressive and consistent results, including:

  • An average 19% fat reduction
  • An average 16% increase in muscle mass
  • An average 11% reduction in diastasis recti (separation of abdominal muscles)
  • 96% patient satisfaction score

CoolTone was released after Emsculpt and just received FDA-approval in June 2019. As such, it does not yet have the same proven track record as Emsculpt.

For these reasons, when considering – Emsculpt or CoolTone? – patients often opt for the more established Emsculpt, which builds muscle and burns fat.

CoolSculpting Side Effects

CoolSculpting is a revolutionary body contouring treatment that has taken the aesthetic industry by storm since gaining FDA-approval in 2010.

CoolSculpting is a revolutionary body contouring treatment that has taken the aesthetic industry by storm since gaining FDA-approval in 2010.

Since then, it has earned multiple additional clearances and become one of most-requested and trusted nonsurgical fat removal procedures in the world.

Because CoolSculpting is completely noninvasive, it carries minimal risk and requires zero downtime. However, it is important for patients to be aware of possible side effects before deciding to undergo treatment.

Continue reading to learn all about the fat-freezing procedure, including possible CoolSculpting side effects.

What Is CoolSculpting?

CoolSculpting is an FDA-approved fat removal procedure that utilizes freezing temperatures to selectively destroy fat cells beneath the skin.

It is an excellent option for women and men who are at or near their target weight, but struggle with stubborn fat bulges on their abdomen, flanks, thighs, hips, arms, back, and chin.

CoolSculpting is nonsurgical and avoids incisions, anesthesia, and downtime. Most patients find the procedure to be very comfortable, quick, and convenient.

How Does CoolSculpting Reduce Fat?

CoolSculpting relies on a process called cryolipolysis to permanently eliminate pinchable areas of fat.

It does so by suctioning fatty tissue into an applicator and delivering controlled cooling for a period of 35-60 minutes. This causes irreversible damage to fat cells and results in cell death.

CoolSculpting Side Effects

With over six million treatments performed worldwide, CoolSculpting is an extremely safe nonsurgical procedure.

According to an Aesthetic Surgery Journal analysis, less than 1% of patients reported complications following a CoolSculpting treatment.

With that being said, it is important for patients to be aware of possible CoolSculpting side effects prior to undergoing treatment.

In most cases, these effects are mild and temporary and may include swelling, bruising, sensitivity, numbness, skin redness, and localized pain.

The procedure is not known to produce serious complications such as bleeding, scarring, or skin discoloration.

What CoolSculpting Actually Does to Your Body

Since gaining FDA-approval in 2010, CoolSculpting has become one of the most popular and successful non-invasive body contouring treatments.

Since gaining FDA-approval in 2010, CoolSculpting has become one of the most popular and successful non-invasive body contouring treatments.

It’s been featured on countless TV shows and promoted by numerous celebrities. You may have even seen photos and videos that patients have captured during and after treatment.

Despite remarkable clinical results and an abundance of patient testimonials, you may want to know more about the CoolSculpting process – particularly how the treatment blasts fat without incisions, anesthesia, or downtime.

Continue reading to learn what CoolSculpting actually does to your body and what you can expect from the procedure and results.

What Is CoolSculpting?

CoolSculpting is a non-surgical fat removal procedure that uses cryolipolysis to target and eliminate stubborn fat from various parts of the body.

Also known as fat-freezing, CoolSculpting is an excellent alternative to liposuction for women and men who struggle with diet and exercise resistant bulges.

Common treatment areas include the abdomen, flanks, thighs, hips, banana roll, back, upper arms, bra line, under the chin, and under the jaw.

What CoolSculpting Actually Does to Your Body

Each CoolSculpting treatment takes 35-60 minutes and is performed in the comfort of your doctor’s office.

During the procedure, a CoolSculpting applicator (there are currently seven FDA-approved handpieces) is used to vacuum localized fat deposits in between two cooling panels.

Once the device is securely attached, it will begin delivering a patented cooling technology that lowers temperature of tissue to four degrees Celsius. This freezes fat cells, without affecting skin or surrounding structures.

In response to these freezing temperatures, fat cells undergo apoptosis – cell death. Fat cell remnants are then metabolized and cleared from the body via the immune system.

What Can Patients Expect from CoolSculpting Results?

As the body gradually sheds fat cells, patients will be pleased to see slimming and contouring of the targeted area. These effects are visible after four-to-six weeks and peak by three months.

It’s important to note that, although CoolSculpting can reduce 20-24 percent of subcutaneous fat, this procedure is not intended for weight loss.

Rather, CoolSculpting produces circumferential reduction, evidenced by lost inches.
